SD as Vice-Chairman of theTISCO Foundation distributes educational scholarships to students in over 30 schools located in Lopburi area. The ceremony was held at Ban Ta DinDum school at Chaibadan, Lopburi Province.

Mother Bunprajak (actually my aunt -elder sister of my father) is recovering from a coronary balloon procedure. She spent two days in hospital after the stent insertion. And another three days due to blood leakage from incision. She is 93 years old and expects to return to teaching her classes by next week at Mater Dei School.

SD gives Mother Bunprajak a bottle of Baron Phillipe De Rothschild Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile for her good health. She drinks a glass of wine every night before going to bed and that probably contributes to her longgevity.

Wellwishers included oldtimers such as Khun Kruawan ("Pook"), Khun Wannee, Khun Malirat Kunplin, Khun Paweena (Owner of Basilico) and Khun Visit Tantisunthorn, Sec.-Gen. of the Government Provident Fund. Khun Malirat was TISCO's Head of Research in 1971 and was appointed Head of Hire-Purchase(Auto) in 1974 after we set up the Hire-purchase business.

Khun Suthep finally (after 30 some years) gets a warm nuzzle from Khun Suvarnapha, President of Thanachart Bank. SD also gave Khun Suvarnapha a "Takieng Tor Chivitr" some 11 years ago when she was seriously ill.

It is an ancient Thai custom to present a gravely ill person with a "Takieng Tor Chivith" or Life Extension Lamp. The person is to take good care of the lamp. It is not necessary that the lamp be lit all the time, but it is good if it is lit from time to time by such person.

Khun Suthep arrives during the first heavy rainfall in Bangkok, an auspicious sign for Thai people. He was driven to Basilico Pizzeria by his former driver, Khun Pranad (who came down from up-country just for this occasion). On the right is Khun Ruchee ("Moo") , the Miss TISCO 1969 and TISCO employee no. 001.
