Baan Rai Khun Nai Restaurant at Wang Nam Khieo

Baan Rai Khun Nai is another favorite restaurant in Wang Nam Khieo. Here new landlords, Puranee and Anchalee seriously delve into two very famous dishes. The "Kang Jurt Salai Tawhu Moo Sap " is one of the best in Thailand. The "Nam Prick Loong Ruer " with local vegetables is refreshing and invigorating.

Three more outstanding dishes at Baan Rai Khun Nai Restaurant: "Shrimp and vegetables", "Yum Origi Mushrooms" and "Nam Pla Fried Chicken Wings " Yum yum!!!!!

Primo Posto

On the way back from Wang Nam Khieo, we stop at Primo Posto, Khao Yai for some ice cream and expresso. Everybody is so full and satiated from the lunch at Jungle View that we all skip dinner.

Photo of very satisfied customers of Jungle View Restaurant. This Swiss restaurant is probably another reason why Wang Nam Khieo is know as "The Switzerland of the Northeast".

Jungle View Restaurant and Home Stay in Wang Nam Khieo

We had some Weihenstephaner beer, made by the world's oldest brewery. It is quite mellow and goes well with the T-Bone steaks served here. Jungle View Restaurant which specializes in Swiss Austrian German food and Southern Thai specialities is a hidden gem in the mountains of Wang Nam Khieo's Thap Lan National Park.

Tender and succulent Jungle View T- Bone steak.

Meat Medallions, beets and mash potatoes.

Crispy Pork Knuckle. Compliments to the Jungle View Restaurant chef!

Delicious and moist Vienna Schnitzel.

Pla Kaphong in lemon sauce.

"Forest Art" is the name of this Swiss dish of braised veal, knöpfle and salad.

Fish and chips dish: crispy outside and moist inside.

Fried cheese and potato salad is another Jungle View Restaurant speciality.

Another Southern Thai dish: Khua Kling Nuer - very tasty meat dish!

Venice of the East

We enjoy La Buca's dinner Chao Phya River cruise. It is the first time we cruise on the Chao Phya River through Bangkok with Italian music blaring, ageing Italian tenor singing, and enjoying excellent Italian food and wine. We have delicious pastas, including the ravioli stuffed with Italian sausage with truffle and mushroom sauce. And of course the famous and savoury Florentina steak.
