Photo shows the height where the tree was snapped broken by Pang Deurn. The answer to our question:" Why did she break the tree at that height?", should be that: she innately desires the tree to be able to regrow new branches from that height.

Pang Deurn has broken a couple of branches of a tree and placed them in a position that they touch her back and face. Then she goes to sleep. It seems that this gives her comfort during her sleep, since she will know if she is losing equilibrium during her standing sleep. The leaves and branches will tickle or scratch her so that she will wake up. Elephant intelligence and innovation is amazing!
