Pavalyn goes with Grandma Rochana to have lunch with the girls at the latest "in" place for ladies : "MINIBAR Royale" in Soi 23 Sukhumvit Road. It is owned and run by "Pamm", Khun Pala Sukawes' daughter. Other pluses: there are five ornate iron posts by the outside tables where you can tie up your dog which is welcomed at this place and the smoking area outside is pleasant for smokers.

Nattamon and Araya treat Rochana to a birthday dinner at Long Table Bar and Restaurant, the present "in" place in Bangkok, with multitudes of expats and trendy tourists mixing with the young and beautiful Thai yuppies. The food is Thai with a fusion of Western, but all very delightful and well presented. Smoking is on the terrace overlooking the Tobacco Monopoly Lake. If there is a wine promotion session you can easily crash the party and try a lot of free wine. Also, there is a male masseur who will give you a massage while you eat at table.
We are sorry that Nattamon may not retire peacefully this year because her provident fund has shrunken precipitously during this world financial crisis year.

Chokechai Steakhouse

We have to eat at Chokechai Steakhouse because the Chokechai Steakhut closes early by 6:30 PM where we really wanted to have the "kuetiew nuer" or meat noodlesoup. So we end up with "PepperSteak", "Premium Filet Steak", "Premium Ribeye Steak", "N.Y. Sirlion" and a "T-Bone Pork Steak.

Khun Pichai spends most of Saturday afternoon planting trees at the Wang Nam Khieo estate. We plant "krisana", "asoke india", "jamjuree", "kajong", "peep", "kalaprapruek", "hangnok yung" and lots of flowering plants.
