Dr. Sumet Tantivejjul and Khunying Chintana host dinner for Ambassador Akrasid and Supasiri Amartayakul during their brief visit to Bangkok from their post in Kenya. They were instrumental in arranging visits to elephant reserves in Kenya. Also attending are Khun Bundit and Khun Pichai who accompanied Dr. Sumet to Kenya last year.

"Kanom Thaan" is one of my favorite sweets. This oldtimer makes some of the best in town.


"Hoymangphu Thord", fried mussels, cooked in a giant pan makes for a tasty meal.


Bundit orders three pieces of roast pork from Nakorn Pathom.


Just could not help not buying some "Pa Tong Go" from this smiling vendor.

Khun Sasithorn and Khun Pracha Chumnarnkitkosol visit Sangklaburi and report that the teak tree forest the TISCO Think Earth group planted in 1997 are growing tall and wide. Not only that, but that the signage is still in good condition.

Summary of panel discussions:
1. US is at all time dangerous level as net borrower to the world.
2. US is about to experience real estate bubble blow out.
3. US longterm bond rates at unrealistic low with too flat yield curve.
4. Asian countries are net lenders to US and should get together to lead rates not follow FED, i.e. creditors not the borrower should determine interest rates.
5. US dollar will soon suffer drastic devaluation.


Bank of Thailand hosts SYMPOSIUM 2005 which the undersigned attends as guest.


Dr. Snoh Unakul listens attentively to M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakul, Governor of Bank of Thailand, as he explains the intricasies of the Thai economic situation on the palm of his hand.
