Khun Sathit and I ran into Khun Rachan Karnchanavanit and his in-law Khun Pansak Srifuengfung at Hosteria Bacco by Sergio. Khun Rachan , who is now 87, was formerly Managing Director of Aow Kham Thai and Tungka Harbor in the tin mining business in Phuket. He took us on the "Margaret Lee" , a World War II converted English pilot rescue boat, to the Similan Islands on fishing expeditions with Khun Tarrin Nimmanhaemin. Khun Sathit took the role of the cook, but was mainly very seasick. Khun Tarrin once kicked Khun Rachan's beloved WW II shortwave radio into the sea by accident. While Khun Rachan moarned the loss, Khun Tarrin said that the fish could listen to the BBC. Khun Pansak was hired By Khun Sathit to work at TISCO at long time ago.
